The Maj. William R. Logan – Joe Cosley Posse Short Stack 80 Mile Route
The queries about a shorter JCPR route hit the threshold, so Joe has added a short stack version.
The route follows the first 50 miles of the original course and the does a u-turn. It then back tracks for approximately 10 mile before taking a right turn on the Olney Cut-Off road, regaining the last 20 or so miles of the original course, finishing at the Whitefish Bike Retreat.
You still get to climb the Big Mountain, continue on past Upper Whitefish Lake and on up to Red Meadow Pass, before heading for the barn. A bit over 80 miles with 6k of climbing and descending. The route files are a bit exaggerated.
- Start time is 6AM.
- Limited to 25 riders. The total number of participants is limited to 75. The remaining 50 stay with the 140 mile route.
- No finish time limit.
- Joe Cosley IPA Seasonal Beer from Kalispell Brewing Co. at the finish.
- Pigs in a Blanket at the finish.
- Awards for the first female and male finisher.
Essentially there is no difference in the schedule of events, except you are pedaling a shorter distance. So, please still read the Riders Packet that is linked on the website under the race tab.
